The results of product tests, materials analysis and workplace studies performed by the BG Institute for Occupational Safety (BIA) are supplied to the commissioning party in the form of test results, test certificates, expert reports, or measurement and analysis reports. The results of basic studies are published in BIA reports or specialist journals, prepared for implementation in practice, and included in the BIA folder "Measurement of Hazardous Substances" or the BIA Manual in the form of safety information sheets. At the beginning of each year, the BIA publishes a summary of publications by staff from the previous year, indexed by subject. Publications in 1999 include 65 papers from the area of "Chemical and biological hazards", 30 papers on "Physical hazards, noise - vibration", 13 papers on "Personal protective equipment", 35 papers on "Protective and safety systems on machines and devices", 8 papers on "Structural objects", and 17 interdisciplinary studies and conference reports. In addition to the bibliographical data, the summary contains abstracts of the papers in German.
