Abstract

This article talks about the fundamentals and framework conditions for research funding in the HVBG. It describes how funds are allocated, the financial structure, the amount of funding and the financial development of the research fund. Selected examples provide an overview of the broad range of topics covered by research funding: early detection of occupational skin disease, early detection of tumours caused by asbestos, rehabilitation for asbestosis, case-control study on the relationship between dosage and effect for spinal disorders, mental disorders following workplace accidents, and the development of a driving simulator.
