Abstract

Very low, hardly detectable concentrations and a large number of additionally interfering components are typical difficulties met in connection with the measurement of N-nitrosamines. Capillary chromatography with a highly-selective chemiliumonescent detector is used to analyse the samples. For the sampling, special impregnated sampling supports are used, which are supposed to avoid subsequent nitrosation of the collected amines. The aromates nitrosomethylphenylamine and nitrosoethylphenylamine represent particularly difficult cases.
