The working results obtained by the BG Institute for Occupational Safety (BIA) by means of object testing, material analyses and workplace investigations in the form of test reports, test certificates, opinions, measurement or analysis reports are made available to the customer. In the case of basic investigations, the results are published in BIA Reports or in specialist journals, and they are conditioned for use in the practice. Results are also included in the "BIA manual" (BIA-Handbuch) and in the BIA working folder "Measurement of hazardous substances".
At the beginning of year, BIA issues a summary of colleagues' publications of the preceding year which is categorised according to special fields. The publications of 1997 include 66 contributions to the topic "Chemical and biological influences", 26 articles on the subject "Physical effects, Noise - Vibration, 6 contributions to the field "Personal protective equipment", 15 essays referring to the "Safety of technical equipment", 4 contributions relating to "Workshop equipment" as well as 24 comprehensive articles and meeting reports. In addition to bibliographic data, the booklet includes abstracts of each contribution in German, English, French and Spanish.
